Chris Coleman of Nelson Coleman Jewelers

Carl Christopher Coleman was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Chris is number 2 of 6 boys in the Coleman family. Almost every time another brother was born, the family moved to another house and Chris attended a different school. He attended parochial grammar schools, Saint Mary s in Govans, grades 1-2, The Immaculate Conception, grades 3-7, and Blessed Sacrament, grade 8; Roland Park Junior High, grade 9, Baltimore City College (High School), grades 10 & 11, and graduated from Towson Senior High School, grade 12, graduating in 1961. Mr. Coleman attended Loyola College Night School and University of Baltimore, night school and day school, graduating in 1971. Chris is a proud Marine, graduating boot camp, Parris Island, S.C. and serving 6 years as a Reservist in the 4th Engineer Battalion, Balto. MD., enlisted. He spent nearly twenty years at B.G.E. and the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development before joining the family jewelry business. He is a student and Diamonds Graduate with the Gemological Institute of America and a member and Certified Store Manager with Jewelers of America. Chris is also a member of the American Gem Society and the Diamond Council of America.

Chris Coleman is the former President of the Tri State Jewelers Association (TSJ) and still takes on a very active role in TSJ by being a member of the Board. He is also a member of the Jewelers Security Alliance. He is a former member of the Downtown Partnership and former board member of the Charles Street Merchants Association. Chris is currently on the board of the Towson Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Hunt Valley Business Forum.

Chris Coleman is fifth generation part owner of a sixth generation family owned and operated retail jewelry store founded in 1856 in Munich Bavaria. Mr. Coleman has over 30 years experience in the jewelry business.
